- C prefixes denote convex abdominal arrays (for example a C2-5 covers a 2–5 MHz abdominal and obstetric range).
- L prefixes denote linear arrays used for vascular and small-parts imaging at higher frequencies.

A probe that images cleanly across the whole aperture and holds a stable connection through cable movement is ready for service; anything that drops out under flexing should come back to us before deployment.
