PACKING AND SHIPPING
Protect the probe and confirm the route for the specific request.
This ultrasound probe packing and shipping guide covers lens, cable and connector protection, condition photos and box labelling. Carrier, paperwork, dispatch estimate and destination coverage still need confirmation before shipment.
SHIPPING CHECKLIST
Four details to close before a probe moves.
Identify
Tie the package to the exact model and to the order or repair reference. Keep the same reference on the outer label and the packing list, so an item that arrives separated from its paperwork can still be matched to its request. For a repair return, state the reported fault in writing rather than only in email.
Protect
The lens and acoustic surface, the connector pins and the strain relief are the three points that suffer in transit. Coil the cable in wide loops instead of tight bends, fit the connector cap or a rigid cover, and immobilise the probe head so it cannot travel inside the box.
Document
Confirm the commercial and carrier paperwork the route requires before dispatch rather than after. Requirements differ by destination and by whether the shipment is a sale, a repair return or a replacement against an existing order. Photograph the item and the packed carton so condition at dispatch is on record.
Track
Record the carrier, the tracking reference and the person who will receive the package. A named receiving contact matters most on repair returns, where an unclaimed item can sit at a depot. On arrival, check the contents against the packing list and the dispatch photographs, and report any discrepancy with the order reference.
Condition evidence travels with the package. Photographs of the probe, the connector and the sealed carton, taken at dispatch and kept with the order reference, are what a later condition or transit-damage discussion is settled against.
Carrier and service level, the customs and commercial paperwork a destination requires, the dispatch estimate and whether a destination is covered all depend on the item, the route and the request type. They are confirmed for the specific shipment in the quotation rather than promised in advance.
